Notes from Perth

But I don't feel like I'm waiting to go back anymore...

I was figuring out Perth at the same time as trying to help him figure out his new life. There were days when it felt like a lot.

I think life is probably better when you actually make time for the things you love. Nothing groundbreaking here, just good coffee, nice food, sunsets, music, friends and the occasional Kmart trip. I'll take all of it.

Flip-flops being called thongs. & thongs being called G-bangers, don't hate it.

You don't stop loving home. You just learn what it feels like to love it from 21 hours away.

I do quite like being part of the 5am club. Just without the running.

“Small oat flat white please.” My most used phrase. And with good reason.

And that's when I realised that starting over doesn't necessarily mean starting from scratch. You don't suddenly become a different person because you've moved somewhere new.

I think I'm finally starting to understand why people fall in love with Perth.
